Thank you for supporting us!
The Universalist Unitarian Church in Waterville offers many opportunities for you to become involved in the church and community.
The mission of the Fellowship Committee is to help members of the congregation create fellowship opportunities. On Sunday mornings whenever possible we have someone at the door to offer a welcoming presence as people enter the church for services. We maintain UU informational materials in the vestibule, including a Visitor’s Packet intended to give those who are interested in our congregation and/or denomination a fuller picture of who we are.
But church isn't just on Sundays! Much of the important work of the church takes place outside of the formal setting of a church service. Events such as Potluck Gatherings and Game Nights are activities that help the congregation maintain connections in social settings. Some of these activities are intended to promote inter- generational opportunities. We have discussion, craft, women's and meditation groups that meet weekly. Some people have put together outdoor activities such as hiking, walking, or sledding. We organize the UU Dinner Discussion Groups that give structure to in-home or church-based groups that meet monthly to share meals and talk together.
We encourage members and friends of the church to form groups, generate activities and have fun together, and especially to include new people to join in. We welcome and benefit from involvement, suggestions & input.
The committee meets two or three times a year for scheduled meetings, and on other occasions to plan for specific events.
Friday Woman’s Group
The group meets in Averill Parlors at 11:00 every Friday. Typically the meeting ends at 1:00. We support and encourage each other, discuss ideas and interesting topics, and occasionally go on an outing!
